Well, i have completed the Betty Blogger course. I thought it was a fun and interesting way to learn about Web 2.0. The most important thing about this course for me was to actually start my own blog. I had thought about starting one for a while, but i never did. Now that I actually have one, i quite like it. No one probably reads it, but hey! Maybe i can start to make it a bit more interesting. It was also important for me to learn a little bit about blogging because i may have to start doing a little blogging for the library I work at!
I didn't really find anything over-challenging with this course. Most things were pretty straightforward. The only thing i didn't want to do was put my pictures up on a website like Picassa. I think i'll keep them on my home computer for now. I really enjoyed the self-directed model for this course. It was good to be able to go at my own pace and not have to rush to get everything done. I definately prefer this method rather than a traditional classroom method. Yes, this program did full my expectations. I came here looking to learn about Web 2.0 and this course gave me an excellent overview of it. There were so many things i had heard about, for example Delicious, but never gave a second thought to. I'm glad i did this course because i love Delicious! And if it hadn't been for this course I probably would have never used it. If this program runs again I would definately recommend this to a friend!

LibraryThing
I love LibraryThing! It is such a great tool. The only thing i do not like is that you can only add up to 200 books before you have to pay for a membership. But, if i remember correctly they do offer a few different membership options, at very reasonable costs. (a lifetime membership for 25 bucks!) I don't use LibraryThing all the time, but i do log in once or twice a month. I like to see what my recommendations are, and i have come across quite a few books on my 'to read' list from those suggestions. There are so many things about LibraryThing that are awesome! I will continue to use LibraryThing in the future.

RSS Feeds
I have used the Google reader before. I haven't used it in quite a while, but it was nice to get back on there again and add some new subscriptions. I added a few music related sites, and some library related sites this time. I would definately use Google Reader again. I do find it very simple to use, and if it wasn't for lack of time I get to spend on the internet these days I would never have stopped using it in the first place!
PICNIC TIME!
I am going to bring a delicious spinach and artichoke dip to the picnic. I will bring some cut up pita or a baguette to go with it! YUM! I find PBWiki to be quite simple to use. Like anything else, if you just spend some time on it you'll get the hang of it. We actually have a wiki of our own at MPL. It is something i check a few times a week, and we all are allowed to contribute to it. However, i don't have use for my own personal wiki.

I am not the worlds greatest chef. I ...
I am not the worlds greatest chef. I can cook, but i really prefer not too. One memorable story relating to food
I have is from a few years ago, when i decided to have my parents over to my place for Thanksgiving dinner. I had never cooked a turkey before, so I was on the phone with my poor mother all morning with her giving me directions. She might as well have been there cooking the turkey for me. After many hours of slaving over the hot stove dinner was ready. My mom and dad were there, the table was set, the turkey was cooked and only needed to be carved. My mom did the honours. During the carving my mom noticed something sticking out of the turkeys *behind*. It turns out i had cooked the turkey with the neck and bag of giblets still inside of it. I had no idea those things were even stuffed into a turkey! I'll never make that mistake again, the next time i cook a turkey i'll be looking in its nether regions!

Picasa
I liked browsing the pictures on Picasa. I came across some interesting images. I wish i had taken some of those photographs. The picture i sent had quite a few tags. Some of them were abigfave, animal, bestofcats, blackandwhite, calico, impressedbeauty, love, meow and yawn. To be honest, I don't think i would use Picasa or other online photo-sharing sites. I might use them to look for interesting pictures, but for my personal pictures i would prefer to just have them on my home computer. I'm just not quite comfortable with this yet.

I already have a facebook profile. I like facebook because it makes it easy to keep in touch with your friends, see new pictures, create events, share things with people, and find people i have lost touch with. I do have issues with facebook sometimes, and often go through a phase where i will deactivate my profile. I find that it is very addictive, and sometimes I spend too much time on it. I feel that sometimes i just need to take a break from it. I have also gotten in minor arguments with friends over things that have been posted on Facebook. I do like Facebook and will continue using it (until i feel the next urge to deactivate). It definately has its pros and cons.
